“I pictured my Parisian
restaurant, as an elegant place that encourages sharing, pleasure and the
enjoyment of food. I offer a meeting of two worlds that inspire me - perfume
and flavours – the pleasure of a cuisine that is sensual, pared-down and
spontaneous, a dialogue between you and me based on my flavour pairings, a
break dedicated to taste and conversation. This restaurant was conceived with
simplicity and feeling, and provides a foretaste of my cooking style in
Valence” explains Anne-Sophie Pic - the only three-Michelin-star female chef in
France – about her new restaurant La Dame de Pic that recently opened in Paris.
Together with
Philippe Bousseton, who creates perfumes for Takasogo, they designed perfumes
with the idea of flavor pairings in the menus offered to customers. Paper scent strips
are presented to the customers to invite them making their choice between 3
fragrances menus: “Amber vanilla”,
“The sea and flowers” and “Sous-bois spices”.
Breathing the
notes of a perfume before choosing a menu is an original approach that appeals
to our senses and invite us to explore the sensory world of a truly talented chef.
“The products are
simple, rooted in French cooking – the oyster, the carrot, rabbit, John Dory,
beetroot – or sometimes extraordinary – Pointed Bourbon coffee, cinnamon leaf
from Reunion, Tahitian vanilla… the matches are complex, the textures refined,
and the result aims to tantalise the tastebuds.”
La Dame de Pic is
meant to draws on all your senses: first the olfactory tasting, then the
cuisine to exalt food-lovers' senses in a warm and elegant atmosphere in the
1st arrondissement of Paris, just steps
from the Louvre.
